
"I was hoping that I'm good enough"
There's too much emotion stuffed in that little sentence.
Hoping that you are good enough is heavy. I don't even know to whom you are trying to convince about how 'good' you are - if that is ever measurable. To your parents? To your friends? To the people you love? To the world?
No - forget all of that - are you even good enough for yourself?
Some people are too hard on theirselves. How they strive to achieve perfection that is utter bullshit and a complete made-up.
Was. He was hoping. Does that mean that he gave up?
Or does that mean that he has finished hoping because he was good enough, ergo he stopped?
